Yasa (also Bongwe, Lyaasa, Maasa and Yassa) is a Bantu language and is spoken by around 2,400 people in Cameroon , Equatorial Guinea and Gabon .

It is widespread with around 1490 speakers in Cameroon in the Océan district in the Sud province , with around 910 speakers in Equatorial Guinea in the Litoral province and occasionally in Gabon.

classification

Yasa Ngumbi is a north-west Bantu language and, in addition to the Ngumbi language, belongs to the Yasa group within the Bube Benga group , which is classified as Guthrie zone A30.

It has the dialects Iyasa, Bweko, Vendo, Bodele, Marry, One, Asonga, Bomui, Mogana, Mooma and Mapanga.
