The Yaz culture (approx. 1500–1100 BC) is an archaeological culture of the Iron Age in the area of today's Turkmenistan . It is considered to be the offshoot of the early Eastern Iranian culture described in the Avesta . The fact that no burials of this culture have been found so far is considered evidence of the Zoroastrian practice of so-called heavenly burial .
