Yeşildirek Gençlik ve Spor Kulübü is a Turkish football club in the Yeşildirek district of Istanbul . The Yellow-Greens play their home games in a district stadium. The club played a total of two seasons in the Süper Lig in the 1950s and 1960s and is 60th in the all-time table of the Süper Lig .

history

Yeşildirek SK was founded in 1951 as a district club and played in the lower Istanbul amateur leagues. In the summer of 1961, the club qualified for participation in the newly introduced, nationwide top division, today's Süper Lig . The club played here for two years and was a fixture in Turkish football at the time. In the summer of 1963 they rose to the second highest division, today's TFF 1. Lig . Reinforced by the founding of numerous Anatolian teams, which increasingly strengthened regionally, the club lost its importance. After Yeşildirek was relegated to the 3rd division in 1965, he was completely forgotten and since then has had the character of a district club. In 1984/83 they experienced a brief recovery and made it into the TFF 3rd Lig, at that time the third highest division, but rose again after three seasons.
