Yedikule Gençlik SK is a Turkish football club from Fatih , a city that belongs to the province of Istanbul .
history
Foundation and early years
Yedikule Gençlik SK was founded in 1944, in the 1969/70 season the club played in the 3rd Lig and reached 13th place. In the 1973/74 season they finished last (21st place) and had to relegate. In 1982/83 the club played in the 2nd Futbol Lig , the predecessor of the TFF 1st Lig . There they finished 14th at the end of the season and had to relegate. The 1982/83 season is so far the only season in which Yedikule has played in the 2nd division. Then the club played for more years with moderate success in the 3rd Lig, in the 1988/89 season you had to relegate as last place.
Modern times
Yedikule now plays in the regional amateur leagues of Istanbul, in the 2013/14 season the club finished 9th out of eleven possible places in the Istanbul 1st Amatoer Lig and had 20 points. You could just avoid relegation, as Abide-i Hürriyet had the same number of points, but the significantly worse goal difference.
