Yellowthread Street is a British crime series produced in the UK in 1989 in a 13-episode season. The series is based on a series of novels by William Leonard Marshall , 16 volumes of which were published between 1975 and 1998.
action
The series tells how the policeman Nick Eden from the Royal Hong Kong Police Force and his six colleagues, some of whom are international, fight organized crime in what was then still the British crown colony of Hong Kong . The series gives insights into the problems of everyday police work.
criticism
The series was one of the first British TV series to have stereo sound, which was very popular with young people. In the cinematic implementation, the poor dramaturgy was criticized: "its chiefest goal seemed to have been to explore just how very badly a dramatization can corrupt and befoul the ideas and characters of a book".
