Ying

Ying ( Chinese   , Pinyin Yǐng ) was the capital of the ancient Chinese state of Chu (楚). Their territory was in what is now Jiangling County in Hubei Province . After the time of King Zhao of Chu (楚昭王), the capital was relocated repeatedly, the relocated capitals all bore the name "Ying" (郢).

At the time of the poet-philosopher Zhuangzi , it was still on the southern periphery of China.
