Yoshida Brothers

The Yoshida Brothers ( Japanese 吉田 兄弟 , Yoshida kyōdai ) are Japanese shamisen musicians and have already released several albums internationally on Domo Records . In 1999 they made their debut in Japan as a duo and have since achieved a certain level of notoriety around the world. Her music combines shamisen music in the tsugaro style with western instruments such as guitars and drums.

Members

The brothers Ryōichirō Yoshida ( 吉田 良 一郎 , Yoshida Ryōichirō ; * July 26, 1977) and Ken'ichi Yoshida ( 吉田 健 一 , Yoshida Ken'ichi ; * December 16, 1979) come from the city of Noboribetsu in the Japanese prefecture of Hokkaidō . The two have played the shamisen since they were children. At first they used the Minyō-Shamisen style , from 1989 they studied the Tsugaru-Shamisen style under the direction of Takashi Sasaki.
