Y square
Y square (sometimes abbreviated as y² ) is a comic series published by Carlsen in 2005 , which was first published in the manga magazine Daisuki . The drawings and story are written by Judith Park .

The young Korean Yoshitaka Kogirei is desperately looking for a girlfriend, but all of his advances fail. Then the new classmate and heartthrob, Yagate Sotogawa , offers to help him. Soon, however, Yagate comes out to Yoshitaka as homosexual, so that he no longer wants to trust him, but still accepts his help.
Then there is a modeling competition in which the pretty Ju-Jin Cho also takes part. The jury consists of Yagate and Yoshitaka . When Ju-Jin enters the catwalk, Yoshitaka whistles and Ju-Jin falls down, so she is excluded from the competition. While she is angry with Yoshitaka , her rival Hyun-na soon makes advances to him.
Now a triangular relationship develops between Yagate , Yoshitaka and Ju-Jin and a conflict between Hyun-na and Ju-Jin over a friend and a modeling career. Ju-Jin is supported by her friend Chana Kane .
Y square PLUS
Yoshitaka Kogirei and Ju-Jin Cho still haven't gotten close . Still, Ju-Jin takes Yoshitaka with her when she receives an offer from “ K Style ” magazine . However, the photo shoot ends in disaster, as Ju-Jin is supposed to wear a rabbit costume. Things get worse when she learns that the editor spontaneously persuaded Yoshitaka to do a photo shoot and that he is now the title hero of the month for the magazine "Luxus".
Yoshitaka basks in his success. But it is soon explained to him that "Luxus" is the monthly magazine for homosexuals. Yoshitaka is devastated, especially since the relationship with Ju-Jin has cooled down again. When he tries to apologize to her with a bouquet of roses, he finds her in the arms of another man, who later turns out to be Ju-Jin's brother Ra-Myun .
Ra-Myun invites the group to a day at the beach. Yoshitaka hopes to finally be able to confess his love to Ju-Jin , but Yagate also hopes to get closer to Ra-Myun .
But Ju-Jin's friend Chana Kane also has her eye on Ra-Myun and is now trying to expose her supposed competitor, Yagate , which she succeeds. Ra-Myun finally gives him consolation, but they don't really get any closer. In return, however, there is a long-awaited first kiss between Ju-Jin and Yoshitaka at sunset.

Y square appeared from December 2004 to February 2005 in the German manga magazine Daisuki and was also published as a single volume by Carlsen Comics . From the November 2006 edition of Daisuki, Y square PLUS , as a continuation of the comic, was published. In 2007 the sequel and with it the story of Ju-Jin and Yoshitaka was completed. The comic also appeared in Italy, France and Russia. In March 2007 it was published in Russia by Urals University Press on the Comics Factory label .
Audio book
The audio book Ysquare is published by cocomico records GmbH and was published on October 12, 2007.
