Yun Ling ( Chinese 雲嶺 / 云岭 , Pinyin Yún Lǐng ; also Yunling or Yunling Mountains ), also known as Xue Shan ( 雪山 , Xuěshān ) or Xue Ling ( Chinese 雪嶺 / 雪岭 , Pinyin Xuělǐng ), is a mountain range in the northwest southwest China province of Yunnan .
It is part of the Hengduan Mountain Range and runs from south to north. In the north it borders on the Ningjing Shan Mountains , in the south on the Wuliang Shan and Ailao Shan Mountains . It forms the watershed between the Lancang Jiang ( Mekong ) and Jinsha Jiang ( Yangtze ) rivers . It is often 4,000 m above sea level and its mountains are covered with snow in winter. The main peak is the Yulong Shan ("Jade Dragon Snow Mountain"; 5596 m ) in the northwest of the Yulong Autonomous County of the Naxi . In the mountains is located is part of the Three Parallel Rivers Nature Reserve , the Yunlin Nature Reserve , which on the UNESCO is list.
