Zócalo

Zócalo (Eng .: "base") is the slang term for the central square of a city in Mexico , including the Plaza de la Constitución , the main square of Mexico City .

Most of the Latin American colonial cities have a main square where the cathedral church and mostly historical buildings stand. Outside of Mexico it is mostly called Plaza de Armas .
