Mimi Tran (* 5 July 1960 as Thithi Tran in Nha Trang ) is a professional Vietnamese - American Poker spielerin.

Career

Tran came to poker in 1989 through the also professional player and former partner Barry Greenstein . She made an arrangement with him that she would teach him Vietnamese in case he taught her poker in return. In Greenstein's book Ace on the River , the latter reports that Tran was soon playing in more expensive cash games . He was also enthusiastic about her memory, as she could analyze all hands after one round.

Tran has cashed 22 times at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas so far, including twice as runner-up and once as third and fourth. She also reached a final table at the World Poker Tour . She is a cash game specialist and has also appeared on the US television format High Stakes Poker . It was only in the mid-1990s that Greenstein convinced her to play tournaments . So far, Tran has more than 1.6 million US dollars earned in official live poker tournaments, making it one of the highest-earning female poker player.

Tran lives in Los Angeles and has two children.
