Zand (trunk)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zand ( Kurdish Zend ) are a Lek tribe in Kurdistan . In Iran , the Zand live mainly in the border region - Dahestan of the same name in the Hamadan province - between the Hamadan and Luristan provinces, and also occur occasionally in Khorasan and Baluchistan . In Iraq a tribe of the same name can be found north of Chanaqin , who share the same religion and language as the Zand in Iran.

The founder of the Zand dynasty , Karim Khan , was a member of this tribe.
