Zanella (textile)
Zanella is a textile made from a dense, atlas-binding cotton fabric that is used as a lining and apron fabric .
The textile was developed in the 1830s, especially in the weaving mills in the Wupper valley , Zanella was produced on a large scale early on. The first weaving mill that Zanella produced was the Boeddinghaus company founded in 1826 . Further factories were built in Elberfeld , seven of which were on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße , including Herminghaus & Co.
One street in Barmen , which today belongs to Wuppertal , was named Zanellastraße after 1874 . The Trinity Church in Elberfeld, built in the 1870s, was popularly known as the Zanella Church at that time .
