Zaqueri Black

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zaqueri Black , better known as Aphromoo , is an American professional League of Legends player . From 2019 he will play in the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS) in the support position for Team 100 Thieves . Aphromoo won the Spring Split MVP Award 2018, the first time in the history of that award that it was given to a support player.

Career

Aphromooo played for a number of teams in the early years of the professional league from 2011–2012 . During this time he also played the position of the AD Carry Under Lane. He's still rarely in that role, but switched to support in 2013 when he joined Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), the team he was closely associated with for a long time. Aphromoo played for CLG in the spring split 2013 and 2014-2017, where he supported AD Carries Doublelift and later Stixxay. CLG won the NALCS Summer Split in 2015 and the NALCS Spring Split in 2016. CLG also competed in the 2015 and 2016 League of Legends World Cups, albeit with mixed results.

After a weaker performance for CLG in 2017, where CLG lost the third and final North American invitation to Worlds vs Cloud9 in a tiebreaker match, Aphromoo left CLG in November 2017. He joined 100 Thieves, a new team that after introducing a new Franchising system was formed by the NALCS. Aphromoo's long-standing leadership and strong individual performance were seen as the main reasons for 100 Thieves' success; they placed first in the NA LCS in the regular season and finished second overall after the playoffs. This helped Aphromoo win the MVP award, although the position of support in this vote has mostly been neglected since the MVP award began in 2014.
