Zdeněk z Labouně

Zdeněk z Labouně ( also Zdenko de Labun ) was a Czech scholar, chaplain , dean and provost .

Life

1393 he put at the Charles University examination as Bachelor , and a few years later as a master of liberal arts . He was appointed Dean of the Chapter of All Saints at Prague Castle and in 1409 Rector of Prague University. In 1411 he took another bachelor's examination in medicine. At the request of Jan Hus , his follower Zdeněk z Labouně was arrested and tortured in January 1410 on the instructions of the city council. On January 22, 1410 he was dismissed from the office of rector. His successor was Jan Hus.

In addition to his theological training, he was also recognized as an astronomer.

Zdeněk z Laboune wrote several quests which included not only theological but also astronomical topics:
