The Alte Weib colliery is a former hard coal mine in Dortmund - Brünninghausen .
The mine was located south of the Emscher in today's Bolmke nature reserve . Around 1754, the Alte Weib colliery operated a tunnel that was driven south and drained into the Emscher. From 1808 the art shaft Philipp was sunk together with the neighboring Forelle mine . Later they also operated a joint dewatering . In 1820, both mines consolidated into the new United Forelle & Alteweib colliery .
