The Glücksburg colliery is a former hard coal mine in Bochum- Brenschede. The colliery was a small colliery and arose from the renaming of the Hahnefeld colliery . The colliery was on Stiepeler Strasse and was only in operation for a few years. The colliery is not identical to the Glücksburg colliery of the same name in Bochum.

Mining history

The colliery was put into operation on December 1st, 1951 under the name Zeche Hahnefeld . The mine was owned by Bohmke & Beckmann, and later Gustav Hahnefeld took over the mine. On March 31, 1952, the previous tunnel was abandoned. On May 1st of the same year, the mine of the Roth mine was taken over. This colliery was also a small mine that was put into operation on December 1, 1951, but whether there was any noteworthy dismantling activity here is not clear from the documents. In 1953 the Hahnefeld colliery with 47 miners produced 12,572 tons of hard coal . On June 1, 1954, the name was changed to Zeche Glücksburg. In 1956, the maximum production of the mine was achieved with 75 miners, it amounted to 21,712 tons of hard coal. On March 13, 1958, the Glücksburg colliery was shut down.
