The Gutglück colliery in Hattingen - Niederwenigern is a former hard coal mine . Little is reported about the mine.
Mining history
The mine was mentioned in the documents as early as 1842. In 1849 the mine went into operation in the tunnel construction . The Stollenmundloch the tunnel was located at the Isenberg road near the junction to the road on clutter. The tunnel mouth hole was later covered by road construction work. After that, the mine was probably out of operation for many years, as it was reopened in 1867. The first production figures for the mine also come from this year: 19,098 bushels of hard coal were produced . In 1869, 830 tons of hard coal were mined. The only known workforce figures come from the year 1871, when 1477 tons of hard coal were extracted with three miners . The Gutglück colliery was shut down in the following year.
