The family of Zehender (dialektal Zächeter ) was originally from Aarau Dating Bernese patrician family that since 1540 the burgers right of Bern possessed of society means lion belonged and 1932 extinct.

The Zehender temporarily owned Château Beauregard-sur-Rolle (VD), the Schlössli Rüfenacht and shares in the Worb Castle .
