Signaling channel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A signaling channel is a transmission channel for signaling in intermediary communication networks . If it within an individual communication link path centralized for a whole trunk group is implemented between two exchanges, it is as a central signaling channel (ZZK) ( common signaling channel hereinafter). However, it can also be implemented independently of individual trunk groups for the transmission of switching information between the signaling transfer points . Depending on whether the signaling channel is permanently assigned to a trunk group or not, a distinction is made between associated and non-associated signaling channels.
