Line (unit)
The line was a measure of volume and count in the salt trade. This line of salt was known as God's line salt .
The salt was beaten in the ladle house in wooden powder molds that stood in a row. The amount was called the gratuitous salt wear and tear and taken as a pious salt foundation. The God's line salt from the Salzkammergut is known . They were given to monasteries , churches and hospitals cheaply or free of charge .
