The Zeitschrift für Bildungsforschung (ZBF) sees itself as a forum for contributions that stimulate innovations in education, put them up for discussion, accompany and theoretically safeguard and thus support an evidence-based further development in education. Three times it appears in the year at Springer VS .
As an organ of the "Austrian Society for Research and Development in Education", the magazine serves not only to promote research and development in education in accordance with the statutes, but also to network its members. It supports the dissemination of research results and thereby promotes the researchers in their work.
The magazine has an interdisciplinary character. All scientific disciplines related to educational processes, institutions or systems are represented in it.
Profile and structure
In line with these objectives, the ZBf publishes substantial and methodologically proven empirical contributions on the theory and practice of the educational system, in particular on the development of educational systems, on educational policy and on quality assurance, which as a rule also consider and help formulate the practical consequences of the findings.

As an organ of Austrian educational research, the journal pursues national goals on the one hand, but at the same time sees itself as open to international, especially German-language research.
