A time stick describes a structure next to a well or kump . He stipulated at what times people and at what horses were allowed to drink from the well or kump. With the introduction of the automobile and the construction of water pipes, the time stick lost its importance. A preserved timepiece from the 17th century is in Bad Sooden-Allendorf in northern Hesse .
