Central documentation of animal genetic resources in Germany
The Central Documentation of Animal Genetic Resources in Germany (TGRDEU) is a database for population numbers and the characterization of breeds and breeding animals kept in Germany and thus the directory of organized animal breeding in Germany. Breeding animal populations have been recorded and documented in it since 1997.
The TGRDEU is operated by the Information and Coordination Center for Biological Diversity (IBV) of the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE), a federal authority that is part of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). It contains information about the farm and domestic animal breeds bred in Germany of the animal species horse , cattle , water buffalo , pig , sheep and goat as well as the farm poultry species and rabbits .
