Center for teacher training

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term center for teacher training is used in Germany to designate central academic institutions at universities that deal with teacher training , but which also usually offer further training for teachers .

The central area of responsibility of the federal centers for teacher training is the internal coordination of the teacher training courses, which are carried out at the universities across the various faculties, departments and institutes. In addition, the planning, organization and implementation of practical phases of teacher training, as well as teacher training and teaching-learning research are additional tasks at many locations.

Since 2005, many centers for teacher training have been newly established in Germany.

In North Rhine-Westphalia the state government has z. B. decided that all universities involved in teacher training should each set up centers for teacher training, which - unlike in the past - would receive a faculty-like status and thus have greater opportunities to influence teacher training.
