Bite capsule

A bite capsule is a pharmaceutical dosage form . It usually consists of a soft gelatine capsule that contains a liquid drug- excipient mixture and is bitten into in the mouth. The drug is made available for absorption ( absorption ) via the oral mucous membranes. Bite capsules are often used to stop angina pectoris attacks using nitroglycerine .
