In running and in horse racing , greyhound races and dog sled races, the finish line (including straight, run-in or finish line ) is the last part of the running route immediately before the finish.

If the track to be completed has curves, the finish line is always a straight section. At horse racing tracks , the finish line is on the grandstand side .
