Decorative stitching

When stitching expressive seams are referred. It is mostly traditional, handcrafted details and signs of special product quality that are used when connecting fabrics with a seam . The Duden defines the decorative seam as an " ornate seam that serves as an ornament ".

Known decorative seams keder , miter , quilting or edge seam . Their purpose is to visually liven up an area by setting accents and emphasizing contours. The decorative stitching is also a decorative element in fashion, both in clothing, hat fashion, footwear and in the saddlery of automobile seats.
