Cigar swing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cigar swing is a device that keeps a cigar burning even if the cigar has not been smoked for a while, that is, it is not pulled even though it is burning.

In contrast to cigarettes, the glow of a cigar suffocates within a short time if it is not drawn. It then has to be re-lit, but this affects the original taste. A cigar placed on the cigar swing remains burning due to the draft of the pendulum movement even if it is not pulled for a long time, so that the smoker has both hands free for other activities. Otto Schwarz received on July 17, 1906 for his "device for maintaining the fire of cigars or the like." a corresponding imperial patent.

Cigar swings are hardly in use today and are also difficult to obtain in specialist shops, as they contradict the essence of cigar smoking, namely to concentrate on it while smoking.
