Ziger donut

Zigerkrapfen are usually diamond-shaped donuts filled with sweetened ziger (whey cheese) made from various wheat flour doughs such as kneading dough , puff pastry or yeast dough .

Zigerkrapfen are produced all year round in Central Switzerland , Eastern Switzerland and the Canton of Zurich . The highlight of the Zigerkrapfen, however, is on the Chilbi in autumn and on Shrovetide in winter. At these times, Zigerkrapfen is increasingly being offered in bakeries and pastry shops.
