I like to eat cinnamon
The song Zimetschtern han i gern was published in 1998 by Andrew Bond on the CD of the same name by the Lehrmittelverlag des Kantons Zürich . The melody is taken from the song Jingle Bells . The CD was Bond's first release and has since sold over 90,000 times.
Like Bond's later publications, these songs are part of the standard repertoire in most kindergartens in German-speaking Switzerland .
Analogous to the template, it is a song that is sung and played during the Christmas season without referring directly to Christmas. Rather, it describes the joy of baking biscuits during the run-up to Christmas. In the chorus the song mentions different types of Swiss biscuits.
