Zincates
The term zincate stands for the substance group of theoretical oxo and hydroxo acids of the chemical element zinc . These arise when the amphoteric zinc hydroxide is dissolved in an excess of alkali hydroxide (e.g. sodium hydroxide ). The anions belonging to the acids can be detected .
Anion | Acid (theoretical) |
---|---|
ZnO 2 2− | H 2 ZnO 2 |
ZnO 4 6− | H 6 ZnO 4 |
Zn (OH) 3 - | HZn (OH) 3 |
Zn (OH) 4 2− | H 2 Zn (OH) 4 |
Zn (OH) 6 4− | H 4 Zn (OH) 6 |
