A circle cutter is a tool used to cut a circular surface from a plate.

There are circle cutters for materials made of paper or glass.

A round glass cutter cuts into a pane of glass (e.g. to attach a lock, a handle or as a ventilation opening, cable / hose feed-through, etc.) whose diameter is too large for a conventional glass drill. In its function it is similar to the conventional glass cutter . The structure is similar to a "normal" compass, except that there is a suction cup on one side (for secure attachment to a pane of glass) and an industrial diamond or a hard metal cutting edge on the other .
