Almaty circus

The Almaty Circus ( Russian Алматинский цирк ) is a circus building in the Kazakh city ​​of Almaty . The circus was founded in 1970.

The building was erected in 1972, based on designs by architects Vs Kazev and V Slonov, and seats 2,160 people. The first performance took place on June 10, 1972.

history

The Almaty Circus was founded in 1970 by graduates of the State School of Circus, Variety and Art in Moscow and a school in Almaty. The circus gave its first performance on June 24, 1970 in Samara, Russia . Further performances in the Soviet Union , Mongolia and Czechoslovakia followed.

The permanent building used for regular circus events was built in 1972. In January 2003 the circus was closed for one year as the building needed renovation.

Since May 2010 dolphins can be seen in the program of the circus shows.
