Ziskakan
Ziskakan is a French musical group from Reunion Island that was founded in 1979. Gilbert Pounia has led the group since its inception . Musically she combines Indian music with African rhythms and Creole texts.
Ziskakan takes on the influences of Maloya and got inspiration from the old masters such as Granmoun Lélé , Firmin Viry or Lo Rwa Kaf . In music, the group demonstrated the values of La Réunion's Creole culture in the 1980s.
In 1994, the group toured alongside Angélique Kidjo by America .
