Zivania ( Greek Ζιβανία , Turkish Zivaniye ) is a Cypriot pomace brandy .

Zivania has been made from fermented grape marc in Cyprus since the 14th century . The term Zivania has been protected by the EU since 2004 and may only be used for products manufactured in the Republic of Cyprus .

The drink is colorless and has a slight aroma of raisins . The alcohol content is usually around 45% vol.

The village of Mehmetçik / Galatia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is known for its Zivania.
