Civil honor cross 1813/14

The civil honor cross 1813/14 was donated on May 13, 1814 by Emperor Franz I in two classes and was intended to reward civilian services in the coalition wars against France. It has only been awarded 149 times.

Appearance

The gold and silver award is a paw cross with cross arms that widen outwards and a finely grained surface. On it the inscription GRATI PRINCEPS ET PATRIA FRANC IMP AUG . On the back is EUROPAE LIBERTATE ASSERTA MDCCCXIII - MDCCCXIV .

Carrying method

The award was worn on a yellow-black-yellow ribbon in the buttonhole or on the left chest.

On September 20, 1814, Clemens Fürst von Metternich received the Order's Grand Cross specially made for him as a special level . This was worn as a neck decoration.
