from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The civil law teachers' association e. V. (ZLV), which was founded in 1950 by Rolf Dietz , unites the professors working in the fields of private law at German-speaking universities. Your activity serves to maintain and deepen civil law studies. The association is registered with the Cologne District Court under the number VR 16324.

The association pursues scientific and legal political goals, but not professional politics. The focal point of the activities of the association are the conferences, which take place every two years at changing locations, at which selected speakers give lectures on basic questions and groundbreaking perspectives of private law and present themselves to the plenary discussion with scientific theses. The last ordinary conference took place from September 22 to 24, 2019 in Hamburg. On special occasions, the civil law teachers' association organizes special meetings, most recently from April 20 to 21, 2012 in Bonn on the draft for a “Common European Sales Law”. Participation in the conferences is reserved for members and guests invited by the board. Barbara Dauner-Lieb has been the chairman since 2019 , and Thomas Pfeiffer is the deputy chairman .

The presentations are published in the archive for civilistic practice (Mohr Siebeck, Tübingen).
