Barbara Dauner-Lieb

Barbara Dauner-Lieb (born April 28, 1955 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Cologne .

Career

Dauner-Lieb spent her school days in Osnabrück , Cologne and Bergisch Gladbach . After graduating from high school, in 1973 she began studying law at the University of Cologne, which she completed in 1979 with the first state examination in law. From 1979 to 1982 Dauner-Lieb was a research assistant at the chair for civil law, labor and commercial law at the University of Cologne. In 1983 she was one of Wolfgang Zoellner supervised work on "consumer protection by forming a special private law for consumers" from the University of Tübingen Dr. iur. PhD. In the same year she began her legal clerkship , which she completed in 1986 with the second state examination in law.

In 1986 Dauner-Lieb first became an authorized signatory and head of the central legal department of Zanders Feinpapiere AG in Bergisch Gladbach. She carried out this activity until 1990. Dauner-Lieb also worked as a lawyer .

In July 1997 , Dauner-Lieb completed his habilitation at the University of Mainz with a thesis on the subject of "Companies in special assets" supervised by Horst Konzen . After substituting a professorship at the University of Cologne in the 1997/98 winter semester, she accepted a position at the FernUniversität Hagen in the 1998 summer semester . In the summer semester of 2000 she was Vice-Rector for Teaching, Studies and Study Reform.

In October 2000 Dauner-Lieb moved to the University of Cologne. Since then she has held the professorship for civil law, commercial and company law, labor law and European private law development, previously held by her husband Manfred Lieb , as well as director of the institute for labor and commercial law. Since November 2006 she has also been director of the Institute for Company Law and head of the department for European Company Law there.

From February 2002 to January 2007, Dauner-Lieb was a judge at the Cologne Higher Regional Court . Since 2006 she has been a member of the Constitutional Court for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Since 1991 she has been a member of the selection committee of the German National Academic Foundation . From May April 2005 to December 2007 Dauner-Lieb was prorector for international affairs and public relations at the University of Cologne. Since 2008, she has been the program officer for the German-French master's degree in law (DFM) at the Universities of Cologne and Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) .

Barbara Dauner-Lieb has been a member of the executive board and scientific advisory board of the Working Group of German Supervisory Boards (AdAR) as well as a curator at the IFF Institute for Family Business in Stuttgart since 2011.

From February to September 2016, Dauner-Lieb was chairwoman of the presidential council of the private Wiesbaden EBS University for Economics and Law .
