Horst Konzen

Horst Konzen (born June 24, 1936 in Wiesbaden ) is a German law scholar and former professor at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

Life

From 1957 Konzen studied law at the universities of Frankfurt am Main , Marburg and Mainz . In 1962 he passed his first state examination in law in Mainz, followed by the second state examination in 1967. He then worked there as a research assistant to Wilhelm Scheuerle , where he received his Dr. iur. PhD. From 1972 Konzen worked as an assistant professor in Mainz until he also completed his habilitation in 1974 at Scheuerle and received the venia legendi for the subjects of civil law, civil procedural law, labor law and commercial law.

At first there were professorships at the universities of Heidelberg and Giessen . In 1975, Konzen accepted a professorship for civil law, commercial law and civil procedure law from the Free University of Berlin . In 1979 he moved to the University of Mainz, where he held the chair for civil law, labor law, commercial law and civil procedure law until his retirement in 2003.

Konzen's main focus was on German and European private law as well as collective labor law. 2002 awarded him the Jagiellonian University in Krakow , the honorary doctorate ; Konzen has also been an honorary doctorate from the University of Miskolc since 2003 .

Since 1957 he has been a member of the CV connection Rheno-Palatia (Breslau) to Mainz in the CV .
