Project 21820 , with the code name "Dyugon" (Russian "Дюгонь" for the same " Seeschwein ") is a class of fast landing craft . Five boats have been put into service by the Russian Federation , and more are under construction.
construction
Project 21820 consists of a 27 m × 6.8 m × 2 m large, open-top transport deck that can be entered or exited via a ramp at the bow. Behind it there is a wide bridge structure with a steering position and underneath the engine room with two diesel engines. The armament consists of two 14.5-mm KPTWs , one each on port and starboard on the roof of the bridge.
charge
Each boat can 140 tons of cargo or up to three battle tanks of type T-72 , or five BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, or one of these combat vehicles plus 90 fully equipped marines carry.
Machine system
The drive is in project 21,820 over two M507A-2D - marine diesel , the two impeller drive which can accelerate the boat to over 40 knots.
units
Five vehicles from the 21820 project had been built at three different shipyards by 2015 ; six more were still under construction or planned at the time. The boats bear the names of war heroes of Tsarist Russia .
