Project 12061 , with the code name "Murena" (Russian "Мурена"; NATO designation: Tsaplya class ) is a class of air cushion - landing craft of the Soviet Navy , which in the Cold War as an enlarged version of Project 1206 was developed.

construction

Project 12061E, 2012, the inlet for the lifting propeller on port can be seen next to the bridge structure.

Project 12061, like the previous class, has a continuous transport deck that extends almost the entire length of the ship, along the central longitudinal axis, and can also be entered or exited with vehicles via a wide bow ramp. The lifting propellers are mounted in the center of the vehicle on the port and starboard sides; two propellers with downstream rudders are installed aft on the roof of the superstructure for forward movement .

On top of the superstructure, in the middle of the vehicle, there is a large bridge structure in Project 12061, which extends over two floors. Two small towers with AK-306 30 mm automatic cannons are installed on the weather deck in front of the steering position , one each on port and starboard.

units

Eight vehicles from Project 12601 and three boats from Project 12601E were built by the Khabarovsk shipyard between 1985 and 2006. The vehicles were given numbers rather than names and the prefix “D” (Russian “д”).

The three Murena-E units were later handed over to South Korea as part of a compensation deal in 2006 , in order to be exchanged for other armaments there for a reduction in the Russian Federation's debts to South Korea. There they are operated as the Solgae 621 class.
