Project 11770 , with the code name “Serna” (Russian “Серна” for “ chamois ”), is a class of small, fast landing craft whose speed has been increased by forcing air under the vehicles through a combination of high speed and hull shape and its water resistance is reduced. The vehicles were planned to replace Project 1176 in the Soviet Union , but were only built by the Russian Federation after its collapse .

construction

Project 11770 with BTR-80 armored personnel carriers .

Project 11770 has a 13.9 m × 4 m, upwardly open transport deck that can be entered or exited via a ramp at the bow. Behind it there is a small bridge structure with a steering position and underneath the engine room with two diesel engines.

Each boat can have a battle tank type T-80U or 60 fully equipped marines carry.

Project 11770 was originally designed to be deployed from Project 1174 ships .

units

16 vehicles of the project 11770 were built by the Volga shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod . Four of them were designed for export as Project 11771 with modified electronic equipment. One ship went to Estonia , the other to the United Arab Emirates .
