Manfred Lieb

Manfred Lieb (born April 6, 1935 in Stuttgart ; † June 11, 2017 ) was a German civil, labor , commercial and corporate lawyer .

Manfred Lieb studied law at the Universities of Tübingen and Munich and was awarded a Dr. iur is doing his doctorate on the basis of his dissertation on the legal nature of the general binding declaration of collective agreements . During his academic years in Tübingen, he joined the Tübingen student association, the Akademische Gesellschaft Stuttgardia, which shaped southern German liberalism . He worked as a government assessor in the Ministry of Justice and in the State Chancellery of Baden-Württemberg, before becoming an assistant at the Institute for Labor and Business Law at the University of Cologne , of which he was later director, in 1964 and a judge at the Stuttgart Regional Court in 1966 .

In 1970 Lieb completed his habilitation at the University of Tübingen and was appointed to the chair for civil law , labor and commercial law at the University of Cologne . From 1974 to 2001 he co- edited the AcP with Medicus and Grunsky . 1983–1986 Lieb was also a part-time judge at the OLG Cologne . He has been a lawyer since 2000 ( Linklaters partnership in Cologne from 2000–2008 ). He also worked as an external lecturer at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar , where he gave lectures on labor, commercial and corporate law. Lieb died in June 2017 at the age of 82 and was buried on June 22, 2017 in the Bensberg cemetery.
