Civil Merit Medal (Oldenburg)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The civil merit medal was donated by Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig von Oldenburg in the spring of 1814 shortly after his return from exile in Russia in order to reward “true German loyalty and Stoic virtue”.

The medal was minted in gold and silver, but not awarded.

A crown can be seen in the middle of the front . All around is the text in capital letters: "Oldenburg's citizen crown one god one truth one right". An oak wreath is shown on the back. This includes the inscription, also in capital letters: "The Fatherland for the Son".

The ribbon is dark blue.
