Zoé's magic closet (original title: Chloes Closet ) is an American - British animated series . It was created in 2009 by the French animation studio MoonScoop in the USA and Great Britain in 3D-CGI and Flash animation and first broadcast in the USA in the same year. The German first broadcast took place in 2010 at KiKa . So far, two seasons of the series have been produced. The idea for the series comes from Mike Young, who created it after experiences with his four-year-old granddaughter.
In each episode, Zoe and her friends slip into a different role and dive into a fantasy world. There they help the inhabitants of this world, usually with a little song on their lips. Each episode solves a different problem and draws a lesson from it. The consistently friendly and polite interaction between the protagonists is positive. The inhabitants of the fantasy worlds, be it dragons, giants or the wolf from the fairy tale, are always nice contemporaries.
The series is about Zoé, a four year old girl who plays with friends in her room. After a short game, the doors of your closet open and reveal a costume, for example an astronaut suit, a princess costume, a diving suit and more. This then determines the topic of the respective episode, for example a space trip, a princess story, an underwater adventure and more. Her cuddly duck croak is a constant companion of Zoé . The robot dog Wuff, the frog Soggi or the plush owl Huhugo are often there too. As soon as the respective fantasy sequences begin, the animals come to life. At the end of each episode, the children leave the dream world and find themselves in Zoé's room, where Zoé's mother or father come into the room and Zoé describes what they have experienced.
The series was published in German by Universal / Studio Hamburg. Episodes 1 to 40 are divided into eight DVDs with five episodes each. The episodes of season 2 (53-104) are each 13 episodes on four DVDs. Episodes 41 to 52 are missing. All episodes can be found on the KiKa homepage.
