Zomby Woof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zomby Woof was a band from the Swabian town of Reutlingen .

history

She brought out her first long-playing record "Riding on a Tear" in 1977, which made her famous.

The line-up consisted of Ulrich Herter (vocals, guitar, synthesizer), Heinrich Winter (vocals, guitar), Matthias Zumbroich (keyboard, mellotron, saxophone), Udo Kreuss (bass) and Berthold Maier (drums). The band was named after a song by Frank Zappa's band The Mothers of Invention . They played skillful and somewhat bombastic symphonic rock, as you could hear it quite often in the 1970s. For this they also used a Mellotron that they could borrow for the studio recordings. Musically, they are reminiscent of the early Genesis or the band Yes , although their own musically complex style clearly set them apart from the mass of other bands of the 70s.

In 1979 a second long-playing record called No hero was recorded, but it was not released until 2009.
