Zonser radio play days

The work on radio plays in German dialects or regional lectures as well as the Low German language led to the establishment of the “Regional Radio Play” working group in 1987, at that time still under the umbrella of the central training center for program staff from ARD and ZDF . With the accession of the Swiss radio DRS and the international dialect archive "Ludwig Soumagne" of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss (IMA), the working group decided to hold its annual conference in the cultural center of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss in Zons, the location of the IMA where they Performed for the first time in 1993. Since then, the IMA has been the organizer of the Zons Radio Play Days.

In addition to the radio play creators of the public broadcasters in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, authors, journalists and scientists also take part in the lively exchange on trends in regional radio play and production conditions in the respective broadcasters. The focus of the Zons Radio Play Days is on the new regional radio play productions that were created or broadcast in the previous year. The language and topic of these audio pieces create a connection to the region. The expert jury will select the best regional radio play as well as the best actor from the available contributions. The highlight of the Zons Radio Play Days is the public awarding of the Zons Radio Play Award and the Zons Actor Award .
