KK Zoom ( Japanese 株式会社 ズ ー ム , Kabushiki kaisha Zūmu , Eng. Zoom Corporation ) is a Japanese manufacturer of audio equipment for musicians.

The company was founded in 1983 and is mainly known for its semi-professional mobile audio recorders beyond the musician sector. For this purpose, Zoom developed its own microphones for XY sterophony .

Zoom also produces effect pedals for guitars and electric basses , recording equipment and drum machines . The company developed its own integrated circuits and processors for their devices. Zoom sells its devices in different markets under different names: Zoom North America , Zoom UK Distribution Limited and in Germany through Sound Service GmbH .

The cheaper digital mobile audio recorders, such as the H2 , which was already available in 2007 for around 200 euros, or its successor, the H2n (2011), are characterized by good sound quality and easy handling.
