Fredrik Jan Hofmann

Fredrik Jan Hofmann (* 1977 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German - Swedish actor .

Life

Hofmann grew up with German and Swedish as mother tongues. In his youth he played football and basketball in a club. From 1999 to 2003 he completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , which he completed in 2003 with an acting diploma. He received the gifted scholarship of the Tokyo Foundation. His acting teachers included u. a. Grazyna Dylag , Peter Simonischek and Martin Schwab .

During his training, he had his first theater engagements at the State Theater Mainz (2002) and at the Théâtre National du Luxembourg (2002; as Ruprecht in Der zerbrochne Krug , director; Frank Hoffmann ). With this production he also made a guest appearance at the Ruhr Festival in Recklinghausen in 2002 . He had his first permanent engagement at the Heidelberg Theater (2003–2005). There he played u. a. the editor Labude in a stage version of the novel Fabian and the pupil Reiting in a stage version of the novel The Confusions of the Zöglings Törless (director: Wolfgang Maria Bauer ). This was followed by a permanent engagement at the Theater Aachen (2005–2009). There were Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream , Edmund in King Lear , Gregor Samsa in The Metamorphosis , the student Basini in a stage version of the novel The Confusions of Young Törless , Orestes in the Oresteia and the title role in Merlin or The Waste Land by Tankred Dorst to his Roll. In April 2010 he jumped at the Aachen Theater for a short time as accountant Johannes Pinneberg in a stage version of the novel Little Man - what now? a. In 2014 he had another guest engagement at the Theater Aachen.

From summer 2009 Hofmann worked as a freelance actor. He had engagements a. a. at the Rampe Theater in Stuttgart (2009/2010 and 2013 seasons), at the St. Gallen Theater (2010; as Ferdinand in The Youngest Day by Ödön von Horváth ) and at the Schauspielhaus Cologne (2011). In the 2011/2012 season he took on the role of Chancellor Njegus in the operetta The Merry Widow at the Dortmund Opera House . With the beginning of the 2015/2016 season, Hofmann is a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Graz . His inaugural role was there in September 2015, the title role in Merlin or the desert land .

In addition, he mostly played smaller roles in various television productions. The focus of his professional activity as an actor has always been theater work. After participating in a few short films, regular television roles were added from 2010. Hofmann had episode roles a. a. in the television series Heiter bis tödlich: Henker & Richter (2011), Hotel 13 (2012; as jury member Steven Fuller), Der Lehrer (2014) and Heiter bis tödlich: Koslowski & Haferkamp (2014).

In April 2014 he was seen in a leading role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Cologne . He played the nursery owner Kevin Meyer, the brother of the murder victim and escort girl Jennifer Meyer; the episode was repeated in September 2015.

He worked as a lecturer for acting and speech training at the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg and at the FH Aachen .

Hofmann lived in Cologne and Aachen during his engagements in Germany . He now lives in Graz and Vienna .
